March 22 Sketch #366

Wild things in the Town

Hello crafty friends!
I have a new page to share with you. The month of March is almost gone, and a scrapbook page about St.Patrick’s Day is finished. I don’t mind that only now I have used the photos that were taken back in 2017. Our family lives in Ireland for many years and I can tell you that Irish people know how to celebrate and enjoy the life. St.Patrick’s Day is an amazing and happy day!
The layout “Wild things in the town” is inspired by two challenges:

Between the pages of a book

Hello crafty friends!
A new layout about how much my son Tomas likes reading. He reads a book every single day. Sometimes in the morning before he goes to school, but usually in the evenings. I took the photos when he read a book in his bed. The bedding had a hexagon pattern and the photos were perfect for a sketch #363 from “Sketches in Thyme”. This layout has a long title – “Between the pages of a book I love to be”.
Thanks for stopping by! Until next time.

The beauty of pink

Hello!
I have something new to share with you. I have always wanted to incorporate the tangram into my scrapbook layout.
“Tangram” is a Chinese geometrical puzzle consisting of a square cut into seven pieces which can be arranged to make various other shapes.
When I have noticed the photo inspiration for the challenge #436 “Tropical Triangles” at “Lasting Memories” – I knew immediately – this is a perfect challenge to use the tangram. And I did! I took a scrap of pink paper and I made a beautiful flamingo for the layout called "The beauty of pink". Two photos of flamingos were taken in Dublin Zoo and London Zoo.
Thanks for stopping by and joining me on my crafty journey.

Food.Story.Love.

Hello everyone!
Today I am sharing a new layout for the March challenge at “Challenge YOUrself”.
Criteria for #63 challenge: Black and White plus Red.

In this scrapbook page I have used a photo of me holding a special book in my hands. This beautiful cookbook is packed with personal recipes and memorable stories from service users, families, staff and volunteers of The Alzheimer Society of Ireland.
I haven’t offered any recipe this time, but I have to say, it was a big surprise for me, that my suggested title for the book won the competition. “A taste to remember” – is a simple combination of the words, but it delivers a strong message. I hope that the book will become a keepsake and something to treasure for families, something that will connect generations in future.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog. Have a great day!

Among the Stars

Hello!
Today I am sharing a layout for the March challenge It’s written in the Stars and Moon” at “SCRAP THE BOYS”.
My layout “Among the stars” has so many photos... that practically there was no left any room to add something extra. I just glued down a couple of black punched circles. The same size black circles my sons were playing with on the wall in their bedroom. They were very busy creating their own constellations.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day and happy creating!

Dear Tooth Fairy

Hello Crafty Friends!
Today I am sharing the layout “Dear Tooth Fairy” that I created for three challenges.

  • At “More than Words” we were asked to use a word “Fantasy” and be creative with “Wings”. I incorporated a quote “Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living” by Dr. Seuss. It took time for me to master a cute Tooth Fairy with its wings:)
  • At “Use Your Stuff” – challenge #350 Stitching (real or faux). I have used my sewing machine to make two zig-zag seams on my layout.

About the photos: My son Benas is keeping his precious tooth in his hands. A little green bag to put a tooth in it is made by me. Another son has his own bag:)
Thanks for stopping by! Until next time!

A little note to update: this layout was the winner!!! The post about that is here.

Happy Name Day

Hi everyone!
On the 4th of March we have celebrated Kazimieras "Name Day" in our family. In the photo you can see a special box of chocolates for a special Dad with a special name :)
I am so happy with how the layout turned out. There is a sketch below that I have used for my page. I am going to submit this layout to "The Studio Challenges" for the February sketch challenge.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day and happy creating!

Keep looking up...

Hello!
Today I am sharing a layout for the challenge at "Use Your Stuff". The challenge is all about RAINBOWS.
About two years ago my boys loved to play with "Hama" beads and I have saved lots and lots little projects that they have made. You can see how we have used those lovely rainbows hanging from the lamp in their bedroom.
Thank you for the challenge! It is a great opportunity to remember those colorful creations. And I have to thank DT member Lori at "Use Your Stuff", because my page is inspired by her beautiful work.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day and happy creating!
